Headshot sessions are shot in the Stutz Building off of 10th and Senate and individual sessions last approximately an 45 mins in length. A handful of different looks will be shot for you during the session. Shooting a range of looks over the course of the session allows us to get a variety of shots for your use allowing you to mix up the shots that are edited.

Part of the process is to edit the session with you as you go. By shooting and editing in this manner we can adjust the focus of the shots during the session to account for anything we feel we may have missed along the way. You'll leave knowing exactly what you will be working with when you walk out of the studio by having gone through the session.

The approved shots will be uploaded into a private proofing gallery in Dropbox where you will be able to make your final selections. These images will then be lightly retouched and emailed back to you within 3-4 days, you should still look like you at the end of the portrait session.

These images will then be lightly retouched, you should still look like you at the end of the portrait session. I will do subtle enhancements such as smoothing the skin, brightening eyes, whitening teeth, and fixing flyaway hair. More detailed retouching will be sent off to a specialist.

Unedited images are not released for quality control purposes it is preferred that all of the work is handled by a professional retoucher.

Feel free to bring a range of different options for clothing. #1 rule is that you have to love it! If you don’t feel comfortable in it, you won’t shoot well wearing it.

I suggest you bring a range of different colors and necklines. If you have any doubt about whether something will work or not just bring it along. Don't be seasonal; everything from t-shirts, tank tops to sweaters and light jackets can work. Textures and layers are the best and try to keep jewelry minimal. Studs or small earrings work and simple necklaces, anything hanging or chunky will usually draw too much attention in a headshot. Have some fun with this, if you feel your wardrobe is missing something then go shopping and keep the tags on it in case you’d like to return the items after the shoot. I have a steamer in the studio, so it will be easy to sort out any wrinkling for you.

If you are still struggling on what to wear for your session I am more than happy to connect you with my stylist. She will either come to you and rummage through your closet or she will personally go shopping with you to find exactly what you are looking for!

Women's makeup:

Makeup for the session is highly recommended for all women. The cost is $150-200 for makeup for the session and includes light hair touch ups.

The makeup is applied very naturally to give you a very clean simple look. The artist will do touch ups and can add subtle changes to the makeup as the shoot progresses. If you’d like to start off a little heavier on the makeup just let the makeup artist know and don't hesitate to speak up if something feels off.

Women's hair:

Come in with your hair ready the way you would typically fix it. If you want someone else to style your hair I am more than happy to help book a hairstylist to be on site as well and we can discuss what you’d like to do with it and make a game plan for the shoot.

I am typically available for portraits Monday through Friday and usually begin sessions around 10am. My schedule does change from time to time depending  the schedule of each particular day. Don't schedule anything too close to the end of your session in case we feel we need a little more time.

A non-refundable deposit of ½ the session fee is required to book a session. The fee is due at the time of scheduling.

I accept cash, checks, Venmo, and Paypal. The remaining balance is due the day of the session.

I work with freelance makeup artists and you will be paying them directly, they require cash or check on the day of the shoot.
